This
is a terrific house in a great in-town location just a few minutes'
walk to the jardin, the park in the center of town. It's on a
typical San Miguel cobbled
street: lined with high walls with doors opening into private
courtyards. San Miguel is full of surprises.
Enter this house's wall via an old wood door that opens into the house's exterior hallway. The washer and dryer are behind carved wood doors at the right of the hallway. Straight ahead, there's a little brick-paved terrace with a lion's head fountain surrounded by lush ferns and geraniums. |

Beyond the terrace, there is an open-sky hallway with steps that go up to a bedroom. The bedroom has a queen bed with a beautiful painted headboard and a pretty embroidered bed cover from Guatemala. Walls are yellow and blue and the floor is terra cotta tile. There is a dark pine armoire, a chest of drawers, a love seat with a red seat cushion and embroidered pillows. The pretty tiled en suite bathroom has a short, deep tub with shower over tub. | ![]() |

Back
downstairs, the living/dining room is at the left of the open
hallway. This is a cozy and inviting room tastefully furnished with
a sofa that's upholstered in gold fabric, two very nice easy chairs,
a round glass-topped coffee table, an armoire that holds the TV and
DVD player. There's a
gas fireplace and excellent
modern and traditional art. Floors are hexagonal terra cotta
tiles.
There
are two windows; one looks onto the open entry area and the
other looks onto the patio. The large dining area has a round English dark oak table that seats 6. An antique cupboard holds dishes and serving items. |

Across
the landing, the third bedroom has an exquisite king-size 4-poster bed
iron bed, an
armoire that holds a TV and DVD player, two chests of drawers that are
used as
bedside storage. There are two beautiful, comfortable easy chairs
and a brick and cantera stone gas fireplace. Walls are ochre;
floors
and the ceiling are polished brick. A desk and chair are placed
in
front of a big arched window that overlooks the garden. The
clothes
closet has beautiful old doors. In a corner, there a small kitchenette area that has a sink, two burners, a coffee pot, a cupboard. The pretty, tiled en suite bathroom has a tiled shower. |

| The
roof terrace, accessed from the upstairs landing via spiral stairs, is
perfect for enjoying the
famous San Miguel sunsets. The house has a purified water system, satellite TV, Vonage phone service with unlimited calls to the US and a US area code for calls from the US. The friendly maid is there 6 days a week. She will do house laundry and your personal laundry. Children are warmly welcomed here. This is a strict nonsmoking house. We regret that pets are not allowed. |
