San Miguel de Allende Luxury Vacation Rental

Straight ahead, along that entry hall, there is a wide open-plan living/dining room, solarium and, just off the hall, the kitchen. The living room has two white-upholstered sofas facing a gas fireplace that is built into the corner of the room, a ceiling fan, a low Mexican chest that can be used as a bench.

Across from the living room area, there is a large solarium that has a tall stone fountain, many tropical plants, a brick floor and, best of all, a glass roof that, with the touch of a button, slides back to fully open. The entire roof retracts and there's only sky - it's quite spectacular.

The dining area, just across from the solarium, has a nice oval table to seat 6 under an iron chandelier.

The smallish tiled kitchen has wood cupboards, a stainless steel sink, a refrigerator, a microwave and an oven. A round table for two is the perfect place for a quick snack. The adjacent laundry room has a washer an dryer. The door to the garage is next to the laundry room door.

The master bedroom is just beyond the solarium and living room. It's a cozy, private room that has a queen bed with a white cotton bed cover, an old pine chest of drawers, an upholstered easy chair in front of French doors that open onto the solarium. There is a gas fireplace in the bedroom, a terra cotta floor, a ceiling fan, dark ceiling beams and yellow walls. This is a particularly nice room. The walk-in closet is really a room of its own. It has a large chest of drawers and a lot of space for hanging clothes.

The large en suite bathroom has a tiled bathtub and a separate tiled shower and two tiled sinks. The toilet is in its own little room within the bathroom. There is a window and a French door that opens onto the solarium.

	The other two bedrooms are upstairs, reached via the wide, gently curving staircase that's in the front hall. The large upstairs landing is used as a TV room and office. There is a desk and chair, a reclining easy chair, a TV and DVD player and a tall bookcase that is filled with travel books. The sofa opens to a comfortable bed. From this area, there is a door out to a terrace at the front of the house.

The two other bedrooms are on opposite sides of the landing. They are almost identical: each has twin beds that can be pushed together, a corner gas fireplace, excellent closet space. One of the bedrooms has a door that opens onto the same terrace that is accessed from the TV room. The other bedroom has a door that opens onto another terrace, much larger, that faces the back of the property. It has a table and chairs and many plants in pots.


The shared bathroom, right off the TV room, has a blue tiled bathtub with shower over tub and a double sink.

The rooftop garden is reached via stairs from the TV room. It has a million dollar view of all of San Miguel and beyond. You can see every detail of the Parroquia, the main church in town. This is a very large roof garden that has many mature plants in pots and furniture for dining and lounging. And there is a dumb waiter that goes between the kitchen and the roof so you don't have to carry trays up two flights of stairs.

The house is on a beautiful street in one of San Miguel's more sought after areas. It is an easy 12 minute walk into centro and a hilly, but not strenuous walk for fit people, back up to the house. The house has a full-house water purification system. The housekeeper works four hours a day, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Children are warmly welcomed here. One well behaved dog is invited to join you. This is a nonsmoking property.
