Cross a plant-filled terrace to the wood front door. Inside, there's a little hallway that has a short flight of stairs up to a very large, square living/dining room that is contemporary in design and function. Four enormous tree trunks support the wood roof that has a large filtered skylight right in the middle of the ceiling. It's quite dramatic. | ![]() |

The room has two separate sitting areas, each with a sofa and easy chairs. One of the sitting areas has a TV and DVD player in a large bookcase. There are three large bookcases in the room, none of which have books now, but the owners are continuing to furnish the house and soon the cases will be filled with books, Mexican craft and art. When that is done, we'll take more photos so you can see it. | ![]() |
| The dining area has a white-painted oval table that seats 6 comfortably. The table is in front of floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto a shady patio that has a glass-topped table and 6 iron chairs. The patio has a roof to shade you from the sun and built-in benches along the perimeter of the patio. From here, you can see the town: the parroquia and other church towers and the hills and lake beyond the town. |

The good-sized modern kitchen has a dishwasher, a Jenn-Air gas stove, a large refrigerator, a microwave. Nice stainless steel pots hang from a rack above the center island. The island block is butcher block wood and the counter tops are gray tile. Walls are magenta and cupboards are white. There is an adjacent pantry and a glass door that goes to the large patio that is located between the house and the casita. The washer and dryer are in a room that is alongside one of the patios. This is typical of Mexican houses, a throwback to the outside wash houses. | ![]() |

Back to the front hall, there is a small guest powder room that has a tiny, pretty Mexican-tiled sink and a toilet. Stairs lead from this small hall down to the bedrooms. One bedroom, painted lavender, has a king bed with a Mexican cotton bed cover and an ornate wood headboard. A small niche holds a built-in desk and a chair. French doors open onto a shady brick-floored private patio that is surrounded by lush foliage and potted plants. The large en suite bathroom is entered through a dressing area that has large built-in closets. The bathroom has a white tiled Mexican-style tub with a shower over the tub. | ![]() |

The casita is up a graceful flight of stairs which you can see in the photo just above. The casita is one very large room that is divided into two parts by the placement of the furniture. One side of the room has a king bed and bedside tables. The other side of the room has a large, comfortable coir sofa that faces a TV and DVD player. Behind the door of a built-in cupboard you'll find a mini-kitchen that has a 2-burner cook top, a microwave oven, a small stainless steel sink, an electric coffee pot and dishes and cutlery. A door opens into a large dressing room and closet and then a large bathroom that has a white-tiles Mexican-style tiled tub with shower over tub. |
