San Miguel de Allende Rental Casa Exterior
This lovely home is owned by a Mexican couple, an architect and an art restoration expert.  The house reflects sophisticated design and the Mexican flair for color and light as well as a strong sense of history.  It is located on a street of beautiful houses and mature trees.

One enters into the house and up a few stairs to the large sala.  The sitting room portion is at the front of the house.  It has two comfortable sofas covered in pink-coral coton, easy chairs, two traditional Mexican leather chairs, family antiques, art, a beautiful wood folding screen and impressive art on the walls.  A stone gas fireplace is in the corner of the room.

The interior courtyard, adjacent to the sitting area, has a fountain and plants and columns and a stone floor.  At the touch of a switch, the courtyard roof retracts completely which opens up this sun-drenched garden room.

Casa Cecilia Dining Room and Kitchen

The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and the interior courtyard.  It has a mahogany table to seat 8 and an antique serving cupboard.  While dining, you can enjoy the sound of the fountain in the courtyard.

Behind the interior garden courtyard is a graceful curved stairway that goes up to the roof terrace.  More about that in a moment.

On the right, under the stairs, is the guest powder room with a concrete sink and basin.

San Miguel de Allende is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It is safe, friendly, beautiful and the weather is perfect.  San MIguel first became well-known to foreigners when artists came here to study on the GI bill after WW2. Since then, its reputation as a mecca for artists and artisans has become world-famous.  There are galleries, museums, street sales for arts and craft.  There are excellent restaurants, music and theater, fine architecture, history.  San Miguel has a major festival nearly every week.  You will never be bored in San Miguel.  We know because we live here full-time.

The house is a flat, 10-minute walk into the central jardin and the Parroquia.  The immediate neighborhood has the historic Instituto, several fine restaurants, excellent shopping, and many Mexican tiendas (shops) that sell everything from fresh-roasted chicken to Mexican artifacts.  It's a happening area, that is friendly and bustling with locals and visitors.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTICE:
