Accommodates 8 4 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, 1 guest powder room Wireless Internet, Vonage phone This
gorgeous house is near Parque Juarez. It has just
been extensively redone with care and taste. Decor
and
art have been collected from the owner's trips to India, Thailand
and throughout Mexico. The collection of folk art by local San
Miguel
and
other Mexican artists is impressive - and fun.

Enter
into a wide vestibule that has a polished brick floor, then up a few
steps to a wide hallway. A small, pretty, tiled guest powder room
is
on the right. The casita is through another door on the
right. We'll
come back to the casita further on in our description. Straight ahead, a graceful stairway goes up to the bedrooms. More on this later, as well. |

The
hallway runs the width of the house. The hall's furnishings, a
carved
table, Mexican pierced tin sconces, a large round mirror, two large
chairs and a beautiful antique rug, provide a hint of what's to come.
Two steps down from the hall, the wide living room is divided into two seating areas. One side has four wing chairs upholstered in ultrasuede, an armoire that holds a TV and DVD player and fine antiques from Mexico and the Orient. Two French doors open onto a small balcony that looks down onto a little terrace that has lots of greenery and a bubbling fountain that you can hear throughout the house. |

| The formal dining
room is
adjacent to the kitchen. It seats 8 at a long oak
table. The ceiling, painted blue, has heavy wood beams. A
pass-through between thekitchen and the dining room allows for easy
serving and clean-up. A beautiful tapestry hangs over the carved
credenza. Walls are soft coral. This is a sumptious room. Wide French doors open onto the incredible, large, landscaped brick patio, where you can enjoy the lion's mouth fountain spilling over into a pond. The lush garden has gorgeous plantings, many shades of green and a multitude of flowers. There is a large outdoor dining table at which to enjoy meals. This beautiful, peaceful, private space is as good as it gets. |

The
beautiful, large Master Suite is perfect. You enter via a little
gallery that has wooden folk art and a wall tapestry. The
king-size
bed
has an iron headboard. Two chests of drawers serve as bedside
storage. A gas fireplace has a rustic hand-painted tile
surround.
A TV with cable and DVD player is hidden in a corner cabinet. The
curved, brick ceiling is called a "boveda" and is a trademark of many
San Miguel houses. A window on the left of the bed looks down on an interior courtyard. French doors lead to a very large private balcony that has two sunny sitting areas and comfortable chaise longues. The patios overlook the large ground floor garden terrace where the liion fountain provides sweet sounds. |
